Transforming livestock vaccine delivery to reach, benefit and empower women farmers in Bawku West and Pusiga districts, Ghana

Description

Description

New Castle and PPR decimate flocks and herds in Northern Ghana. These are mostly in the hands of women. Vaccines exist, but women don’t access them due to restrictive gender norms: they can’t leave the house, meet male vets and extensionists, say that they own an animal. The health of animals, their productivity, and ability to support women and their households is compromised.
