One Health Surveillance and Molecular Epidemiology of Rift Valley Fever in Kenya

Description

Description

Objectives:

1. To determine the endemic prevalence of RVF infection in livestock in three ecologically distinct areas in Kenya.

2. To investigate the seroprevalence and risk factors for seropositivity to RVFV among febrile patients

3. To determine the distribution and diversity of potential RVF Vectors in low endemic areas of Kenya and conduct virus testing.

4. To evaluate the evolutionary dynamics and molecular diversity of RVFV strains circulating in Kenya.

5. To develop spatial predictive models that will contribute to the existing risk maps for RVF in Kenya
