Strengthening Multi-sectoral Coordination on Antimicrobial Resistance: A Landscape Analysis of Initiatives in Malawi

Description

Description

fforts to address antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is often hindered by compartmentalized approaches that don't account for the complexity of AMR. A coordinated multisectoral approach, or One Health, is increasingly recognised as essential, yet implementing such a strategy within national frameworks presents challenges. These include entrenched institutional silos, conflicting priorities, legal hurdles, and resource limitations. In Malawi, these challenges are pronounced as efforts to establish a functional OH platform faces barriers such as lack of trust and understanding amongst stakeholders. We aim to identify all stakeholders engaged in AMR, their specific roles, and the barriers they encounter.
